You may have seen the Department of Work and Pensions new advertising campaign aiming to inform the public about the importance of workplace pensions. (Hint: it’s a big blue furry creature who follows strangers around in the park!)

According to The Pensions Regulator, over 5 million people are already benefiting from a workplace pension and saving for their retirement as a result of Automatic-Enrolment.

Automatic Enrolment applies to every employer with atleast one member of staff, who will be required by law to provide a workplace pension by the end of 2017. It doesn’t just apply to large businesses and organisations; if you employ someone like a cleaner or a nanny, you are also classed as an employer and will need to make sure that eligible employees are enrolled into a workplace pension.
